Our retail client is looking for a
Menswear Apparel Designer for a hybrid freelance assignment in New York from 5/26 through 8/19.
This role supports the design and development of seasonal men’s apparel collections for Value and Wholesale channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support seasonal men’s apparel collection development
- Create sketches, flats, and technical packages in Adobe Illustrator
- Build mood boards, concept decks, and trend presentations
- Research trends, color direction, fabrics, and silhouette ideas
- Maintain tech packs, BOMs, and PLM updates
- Attend fit sessions and track revisions
- Partner with Merchandising, Technical Design, and Production teams
- Communicate with overseas vendors and factories
- Support product development timelines and seasonal milestones
- Assist with presentations, line reviews, and market preparation
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of apparel design or product development experience
- Menswear experience preferred
- Strong Illustrator sketching and technical flat skills
- Experience creating tech packs and supporting product development
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; PLM experience preferred
- Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
- Portfolio required
