About ADELIER
Guided by our growth and the refinement of our client services, Audrey Adele Consulting is now ADELIER - and we are hiring! ADELIER partners with womenswear brands and founders to bridge the gap between creative vision and commercial execution. Through consulting, creative direction, and end-to-end product development support, we bring structure, precision, and strategic oversight to the apparel development and production process. We collaborate with emerging brands, established businesses expanding into new categories, and lifestyle brands entering the apparel market, delivering tailored solutions that transform ideas into collections—and collections into enduring brands.
Role Description
This is a remote, part-time contract role, with an expected commitment of approximately 20-40 hours per month. We are seeking a skilled Womenswear Technical Designer to support ongoing client projects across contemporary womenswear brands. This is a contract role ideal for someone who is a self-starter, who wants to grow something meaningful with a small team of women, and has strong experience translating creative concepts into production-ready garments.
The Technical Designer will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, fit, and execution of each collection from development through production. This person will work closely with internal team members, clients, and factories to bring designs to life with precision and consistency.
Our ideal candidate is one interested in long-term growth opportunities within a small company. Hours may increase over time, with the potential for a consistent retainer structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed technical flats, garment CADs, and tech packs
- Participate in virtual fit sessions and communicate clear, actionable feedback to factories
- Assist in reviewing and approving samples across development and production stages (proto, SMS, PP, TOP)
- Maintain organized sample tracking across all stages of development
- Ensure and maintain fit, construction, and quality standards across styles
- Collaborate with design and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Manage and track development timelines and approvals
- Communicate directly with overseas factories and vendors
- Contribute creatively in pitching concepts and new designs in client presentations (strong hand-sketching ability considered a plus)
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in womenswear technical design (wovens, knits, etc.)
- Degree in Fashion Design or Technical Design
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and grading
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Excel, and Google Suite
- Experience working with overseas factories
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
Hourly rate is commensurate with experience, and we are looking to hire as soon as the right candidate is identified. Applicants must submit a portfolio and cover letter to be considered.
This is a fully remote role. While not required, candidates located near New Orleans, LA (where ADELIER is headquartered) may have opportunities for occasional in-person collaboration and expanded scope over time.
