Based at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, the Council serves as a vehicle for the University’s commitment to important civic and political institutions.
Required: The World Affairs Council of Atlanta invites nominations and applications for the position of Program Assistant–World Affairs. The role is responsible for supporting the development and marketing of foreign policy programs, stakeholder customer service, and the delivery of all aspects of in-person and virtual events. Attendance at early-morning, evening, and weekend events (excluding class schedule conflicts) is required, as is the ability to work primarily at the Buckhead (Atlanta) campus of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Reporting to the Director of the Council, the Program–World Affairs will be responsible for the following:

Here Is What You Will Do:
- Program Ideation Assist with researching global news and events. Identify and secure expert speakers for engaging in-person and virtual events.
- Program Management Assist with all aspects of in-person and virtual events, including venues, travel, catering, A/V, runs of show, scripting, and guest registration.
- Program Marketing Assist with creating digital marketing and promotional content that drives engagement.
- Program Analysis Assist with collecting and analyzing customer survey feedback to improve future programs. Prepare reports to guide planning and decision-making.
- Customer Service Assist with newsletter, email, and telephone communications with speakers, vendors, partners, customers, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Hiring Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, small-team environment working under tight deadlines
- Excellent software skills, including Microsoft 365 Suite (Teams, Word, Excel), Asana, Zoom, Canva, Hootsuite, Constant Contact, Wild Apricot.
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated interest in foreign policy and international affairs
- Experience in event planning and project management a plus
Location: Buckhead Campus
Shift: 8:30am - 5:15pm may vary
Salary : $10.00/hour
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
