Overview
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing, curating, and managing high-quality content across social media platforms and digital channels. This role balances creative production, strategic planning, community engagement, and performance tracking to grow brand awareness and strengthen audience relationships.
Because social media is a 24/7 space, the successful candidate must understand and embrace the need for flexibility outside traditional business hours. Monitoring, engagement, and timely responses are essential to keeping our brand voice & our clients active and relevant around the clock.
Overall Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Curation
- Develops and produces engaging, shareable content (images, videos, infographics, text).
- Collaborates with designers, videographers, and content creators to build creative assets.
- Engages constantly with the accounts- responding to DM’s in a timely manner, replying to comments, and initiating collab posts as they come in.
- Writes copy and captions
- Curates user-generated and third-party content that aligns with brand voice.
- Films content on mobile devices and DSLR cameras, edited on mobile editing programs such as CapCut or Adobe Suite
- Edits photos using Lightroom and Photoshop
- Creates memes, GIFs, and other social elements widely used in social media
- Comfortable with being on camera, capturing content such as candid interviews and on-the-fly action at events
- Willingness to travel
- Willingness to work weekends when client events are scheduled
Qualifications
- Proficiency in social media tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later, etc.) and analytics platforms.
- Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
- Ability to balance creativity with data-driven strategy.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 digital environment. Monitoring, responding, and engaging as needed outside of traditional hours.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
Social Media Strategy
- Creates and executes social media content strategy aligned with brand goals.
- Research platform updates, trends, and best practices to optimize performance.
- Platform Management
- Manages day-to-day operations of brand social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
- Schedules and publishes content natively and using social media management tools.
- Tailors posts to platform-specific requirements (copy length, image sizes, formatting).
Community Engagement
- Responds to comments, messages, and mentions to foster audience relationships.
- Is ahead of the game in engagement at all times
- Implements strategies to increase organic audience growth.
Analytics & Reporting
- Tracks and analyzes performance metrics (impressions, engagement rates, shares, comments, etc.).
- Adjusts content strategy based on insights to improve ROI.
Campaigns & Promotions
- Creates and executes campaigns, contests, giveaways, and promotions.
- Coordinates influencer partnerships and paid campaigns to boost reach.
Content Strategy Development
- Develops editorial calendars, content themes, and target audience frameworks.
- Self starts by taking the shared creative brief and running with it, owning the project and content from A-Z.
- Aligns strategy with business objectives, SEO, and audience needs.
- Maintains detailed content calendars to ensure regular, consistent publishing.
Content Performance & Optimization
- Uses analytics tools (Google Analytics, native social insights, etc.) to track performance.
- Refines strategies based on data-driven insights.
Collaboration & Communication
- Works closely with marketing, design, and product teams to ensure cohesive campaigns.
- Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders for timely content delivery.
Content Maintenance & Updates
- Regularly updates existing content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Manages the archiving and organization of content assets.
Branding & Messaging
- Ensures all content aligns with brand voice, tone, and strategic goals.
- Elevates overall content quality and consistency.
Campaign Management
- Plans and executes content-driven campaigns, including product launches an d series.
- Integrates content strategies into broader marketing efforts.
