We are looking for a Freelance Associate Technical Designer, Children's Sportswear, with a top fashion brand in NYC.
- Pay rate: $34 - 41/hour
- 3 month assisgnment
Responsibilities:
- Support seasonal development by attending meetings with Design, Merchandising, and Senior Technical Design to assist with new block development.
- Assist the technical design team with measuring, auditing, and preparing physical samples for fit sessions.
- Measure and audit 3D garments to support virtual fittings and digital development initiatives.
- Execute basic 3D and pattern adjustments under the direction of senior technical designers.
- Attend physical and virtual fit sessions with the Lead or Senior Technical Designer, support form dressing, sample handling, and detailed notetaking.
- Draft and communicate clear, accurate 3D and physical fit comments to overseas vendors with guidance as needed.
- Maintain organized tracking of seasonal fit samples and follow up on outstanding items for the team.
- Create and revise technical sketches in Adobe Illustrator.Update and maintain block specs, sketches, and BOM’s in FlexPLM.
Required Qualifications:
- Collaborative team player with a growing ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities
- Comfortable multitasking and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail with solid organizational and follow-through skills
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Foundational understanding of garment construction and 2D patternmaking concepts
- Working proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Familiarity with PLM systems (FlexPLM preferred)
- Foundational knowledge of 3D apparel software (Browzwear preferred)
- Exposure to 2D electronic patternmaking systems is a plus (Gerber preferred
