Position: Athletics Marketing & Fan Experience Graduate Assistant
Compensation: $12,000 annual stipend plus 18 credits per academic year
Reports to: Sarah Ratchford, Senior Associate AD/Marketing & Revenue Generation
General position summary: The Marketing & Fan Experience Graduate Assistant supports the strategic marketing initiatives designed to elevate the Fairfield Stags brand, enhance the game day atmosphere, increase attendance, and generate revenue across all athletic programs.
This role plays a key part in student engagement efforts, creating and implementing initiatives that drive student attendance and participation at athletic events and campus-related functions. The position works collaboratively with the marketing and fan experience team to deliver dynamic promotions, in-game entertainment, and fan engagement strategies.
The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to think strategically, write effectively, and contribute innovative ideas. Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules, policies, and best practices is preferred but not required. The individual must thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and be comfortable taking initiative on projects from concept through execution.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with all gameday presentation components, including on-court/field promotions/sponsored elements, pre-game & post-game activations, in-game performances, as well as managing digital content associated with games.
- Develop and execute promotional schedules for sports as assigned.
- Manage email and mobile communications promoting ticket offers and gameday information.
- Assist in the coordination of single game and season ticket email campaigns and digital advertising strategy.
- Assist in the expansion of the Lil’ Stags Club by recruiting new members in the community, reaching out to local youth groups and community centers.
- Coordinate the creation of marketing collateral for all sports.
- Manage Lucas the Stag and his appearances on campus and in the community.
- Collaborate with University Marketing & Communications, Student Engagement and other University departments to enhance engagement on campus and in the community.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into a Fairfield University graduate program.
