Assistant Project Manager – Social Media Writer

Looking for an opportunity to combine social media strategy, content creation, and project coordination in a mission-driven environment? Sapphire Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Project Manager – Social Media Writer to support a respected organization focused on energy and sustainability initiatives across New York State.
This role is ideal for a creative, organized professional who knows how to turn ideas into engaging digital content, manage multiple priorities, and help maintain a strong, consistent brand presence across social platforms. This is hybrid role requiring some office presence in the Albany, NY area.
What you’ll do:
- Create engaging social media content including posts, captions, graphics, reels, and stories
- Manage content calendars and scheduling to support ongoing campaigns and initiatives
- Adapt messaging for different platforms while maintaining brand voice and communication goals
- Monitor trends, audience engagement, and platform updates to help inform content strategy
- Support community engagement through comments, messages, and social interactions
- Track social media performance and provide insights to strengthen results
- Collaborate with internal teams to support campaigns, events, and broader communication efforts
- Use social media management tools to keep content organized and on schedule
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field
- Experience creating and managing social media content
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with scheduling, monitoring, or analytics tools such as Sprout Social or Hootsuite is a plus
