About the Role
We are looking for a Freelance Assistant Color & Print Designer / Print Stylist to support the development of seasonal, brand-right print artwork from concept through production. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-paced, collaborative design team focused on creating compelling prints and graphics that align with brand direction and product strategy.
The ideal candidate is passionate about fashion, proactive, highly organized, and comfortable working quickly in a dynamic environment. You will collaborate closely with designers, CAD partners, and production teams to help bring print stories to life across product categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and style brand-appropriate print stories that support seasonal concepts and product categories from initial concept through production handoff.
- Partner with the design team to create and adapt original print artwork and novelty materials that complement the overall assortment.
- Collaborate with CAD and print technologists to refine print layouts, ensuring proper scale, repeat, and technical feasibility across fabrics and product types.
- Use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to create print layouts, repeats, and presentation boards for milestone reviews.
- Assist with building line sheets and filling CADs with prints and graphics across assortments.
- Review print strike-offs with design and production teams to ensure quality and creative intent are maintained.
- Maintain organized print files, charts, and design decks, ensuring clear communication of updates and revisions.
- Track progress against seasonal milestones and deadlines, ensuring all print assets are delivered accurately and on time.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in print design, textile design, or graphic design within a retail or consumer brand environment.
- Strong knowledge of print construction, repeats, and layout composition.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Experience filling CADs with prints and graphics and building print assortments.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced design environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with NedGraphics, especially the Easy Coloring module.
- Experience working with line sheets and seasonal assortment planning.
- Ability to translate inspiration into commercially viable prints and graphics.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
- Creating and adapting graphics and print artwork based on team inspiration and seasonal direction.
- Filling line sheets and CADs with print and graphic options.
- Collaborating with designers and CAD teams to refine layout, scale, and repeat patterns.
- Preparing presentation boards and design decks for internal reviews.
- Reviewing strike-offs and print samples to ensure quality and brand alignment.
