Job Overview
Selective Seconds is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Social Media Coordinator to join our dynamic marketing team. In this role, you will help drive the Selective Seconds brand’s online presence by creating engaging content, managing social media platforms, and building meaningful connections with our audience. You will play a key part in showcasing our brand story, promoting our products, and strengthening our relationship with customers across multiple digital channels.
Your creativity, organization, and strategic mindset will help elevate Selective Seconds’ digital footprint, increase brand awareness, and connect with diverse communities online. This role involves collaborating with the Brand & Graphic Designer and General Manager to plan and execute social media campaigns, monitor engagement, and continuously optimize content based on performance insights.

Duties
- Produce, edit, and publish social media content on a consistent schedule, maintaining a minimum of three posts per day across active platforms.
- Learn and maintain the Selective Seconds brand voice, audience focus, and visual style to ensure all content aligns with brand identity.
- Create engaging content for platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, along with other relevant social channels.
- Capture and create original media by filming and photographing products, in-store moments, and lifestyle content that reflects the Selective Seconds brand.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Graphic & Brand Designer to ensure content aligns with overall branding, marketing initiatives, and campaign goals.
- Stay up to date on social media trends, platform features, and industry best practices to keep content fresh and competitive.
- Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions to develop creative, engaging, and trend-relevant content concepts.
- Assist with community engagement by monitoring posts and interacting with followers through comments, reactions, and messages when appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Video Editing: Experience editing short-form video using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or native in-app editing tools on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
- Content Filming Best Practices: Knowledge of social media video strategies including strong hooks, engaging storytelling, and clear calls-to-action (CTAs) to increase engagement and conversions.
- Scheduling & Platform Management: Proficiency with Meta Business Suite for scheduling posts, managing content calendars, and monitoring engagement across Facebook and Instagram.
- Photography: Basic photography skills, particularly product photography, including lighting, framing, and composition best practices for social media content.
- Writing & Editing: Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft engaging captions, edit content for clarity, and maintain a consistent brand voice. Experience with content writing is a plus.
- Design Workflow: Experience using Canva for locating brand assets, editing templates, and exporting content in proper formats for different platforms.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, marketers, and content creators. Providing constructive and positive direction during content development is a plus.
- Social Media Analytics: Understanding how to interpret platform analytics and adjust content strategy based on performance metrics such as reach, engagement, and audience growth.
- Algorithm Awareness: Staying up to date with algorithm updates and best practices across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook to optimize content visibility.
Schedule:
- Part-time hours
- Some flexibility required for content creation, events, or promotions
- Coming into office at least twice a week
- Weekly in-person collaboration time for the Marketing Team
