Technical Copywriter (B2B / Fintech)
Role: Contract / Freelance
Location: SF Remote or NYC Hybrid
Hours: 20–40 hours/week
Start: Immediate
We’re looking for a Technical Copywriter to support product marketing content for a leading fintech brand. This role is for a precise and experienced writer who can take complex product, platform, or payments-related information and turn it into clear, compelling, on-brand content across formats. You should be equally comfortable shaping a polished report, tightening presentation copy, scripting an explainer, or editing a dense product narrative into something sharp and readable.
This is not an SEO content role. It is not a blog writing role. We want someone with real agency experience who knows how to write for sophisticated brands, collaborate with creative teams, and maintain a high bar across high-volume work.
What you’ll do
- Write and edit product marketing content for a leading fintech brand
- Develop clear, compelling copy across a wide range of formats, including: Docs, White papers, Presentations, Reports, Articles, Social ads, Explainers, Video scripts, Infographics, Landing pages
- Quickly learn and apply a well-defined brand voice and editorial style guide
- Translate technical, product, and platform information into clear storytelling for business audiences
- Collaborate closely with designers, writers, editors, and project managers to ship polished work
- Work independently and asynchronously across multiple active projects
- Occasionally review and refine content from junior writers, offering clear and useful feedback
- Maintain high standards for accuracy, clarity, structure, and craft under tight timelines
You might be a fit if you:
- Have 5+ years of experience in a creative agency
- Have deep experience writing technical or product marketing content for major B2B, SaaS, fintech, or payments brands
- Familiarity with emerging technologies shaping modern fintech and commerce, including agentic AI, payments orchestration / API-driven automation, and stablecoin-enabled financial infrastructure.
- Know how to make complex subject matter feel clear, intelligent, and engaging without oversimplifying it
- Can move between long-form and short-form content without losing precision or voice
- Have strong editorial instincts and know how to structure information for readability and impact
- Are comfortable writing within established brand systems and style guidelines
- Have experience collaborating with designers and understand how copy works in layout, presentations, video, and visual storytelling
- Can manage your own workflow and communicate clearly in an async environment
- Are comfortable using project management and collaboration tools to keep work moving
Strong candidates will also have:
- Experience writing for fintech, payments infrastructure, APIs, commerce platforms, financial products, or technical B2B tools
- A portfolio that shows range across thought leadership, product marketing, executive narrative, and campaign assets
- The ability to balance technical fluency with strong brand judgment
- Agency-trained speed, polish, and responsiveness
Not the right fit if you primarily do:
- SEO blog writing
- Low-cost content production at volume
- Generalist freelance copy without major brand or agency experience
- Consumer lifestyle copy only, without technical or B2B depth
