We're Hiring: Marketing Assistant (Contract Role) – Remote
Shank Marketing is looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Marketing Assistant to join our remote team as an independent contractor!
We partner with tribal enterprises, casinos, and local businesses to create revenue-driving marketing strategies across digital, social, and traditional platforms. If you're passionate about marketing, love working behind the scenes to make campaigns shine, and are excited to work with clients in the casino gaming, hospitality, and entertainment industries, this might be the perfect role for you.
About the Role:
Title: Marketing Assistant
Location: Remote(some travel required)
Contract Rate: $42,000/year
Commitment: ~40 hours/week | Independent Contractor (1099)
Term: 12-month contract
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with day-to-day marketing operations and client communications
- Create and schedule content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and more
- Respond to online reviews, messages, and community engagement
- Coordinate email and SMS campaigns
- Help maintain content calendars and support campaign rollouts
- Conduct research and help prep reports
- Provide light website update support (WordPress and similar CMS platforms)
- Take notes during meetings and assist with internal team organization
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Interest in marketing, advertising, or communications
- Knowledge of social platforms: Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google My Business, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Pinterest, YouTube, and Nextdoor
- Familiarity with Canva, Constant Contact, Google Drive, and marketing dashboards
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, or related field (preferred)
Bonus if you have experience in graphic design, customer service, or the casino/hospitality industry!
Shank Marketing is based in Bellingham, WA—but we serve clients across the U.S., so we’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working remotely and collaborating across time zones.
