Position Overview
We're seeking a detail-oriented and creative Social Media Specialist to be in a largely supportive role serving multiple clients in various industries. This is a part-time, employed position that requires both independent work and occasional client-facing interaction. You'll be responsible for executing on social media strategies, creating engaging content, and building online communities for our diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management
- Create graphics and visual content for social media posts using tools like Canva (23+ client posts/week) across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Draft post captions with select emojis and hashtags as appropriate.
- Develop content for our agency's own social media presence (5 days/week).
Strategy & Engagement
- Assist with developing social media strategies for clients as needed.
- Monitor and adjust strategy based on direction, performance, and client feedback.
- Conduct periodic hashtag research to maximize post reach and engagement.
- Attend occasional client meetings (virtual) to discuss social media performance and strategy.
Reporting & Analysis
- View tracked metrics and provide insights on what's working and where to improve.
Team Collaboration
- Align with our Social Media Coordinator for specialized creative needs.
- Communicate regularly with Social Media Coordinator and agency owner about social media performance.
- Stay organized managing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
BONUS Experience Desired: Video & On-Site Work
· Film video content at local client locations for social media use.
· Film video content for agency promotion.
· A Triad-located candidate would be best for this and able to travel occasionally to client sites as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of experience managing social media for businesses (agency experience preferred)
- Proficiency in major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter/X, TikTok)
- Strong graphic design skills using Canva Pro or similar tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication and copywriting abilities
· Self-directed and able to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client accounts
- Comfortable with client-facing interactions and professional communication
- Reliable transportation for client meetings and on-site filming (for local candidates)
Preferred:
- Experience with social media scheduling tools
- Knowledge of Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting tools
- Experience working with small business clients
· Basic to intermediate video filming and editing capabilities
