Position Overview
The Graphic Designer is responsible for executing high-quality, production-ready creative work that supports DCR’s brand identity, customer-facing materials, product packaging, marketing initiatives, and overall customer experience. This role is highly execution-focused and requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and brand consistency.
The ideal candidate has advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, is comfortable working in Canva as needed, and brings strong professional photography skills. This role works within established brand standards and creative direction while supporting ongoing business, marketing, and customer needs.
Role Scope & Team Structure
This role works under the direction of the Design Supervisor and supports the execution of established brand standards, creative direction, and project priorities. The Graphic Designer is responsible for translating approved creative concepts into accurate, production-ready design assets while maintaining consistency across all DCR and customer-facing materials. This position plays a key role in supporting day-to-day design execution, customer-specific assets, and production needs during a temporary leave period.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design Production

Create high-quality visual designs for packaging, print materials, digital graphics, social media content, merchandising, and sales collateral.

Work primarily in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop; utilize Canva for collaborative or quick-turn projects.

Ensure all artwork is accurate, consistent, and adheres to established brand standards.

Prepare final production-ready files for print vendors, external partners, and internal use.

Organize design files using clear naming conventions and maintain established workflows.

Manage multiple active projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and production timelines.
Customer-Specific & Private Label Assets

Create and update customer-specific design assets, including private-label packaging, menus, signage, and branded marketing materials.

Maintain DCR quality standards while adapting assets to customer-specific requirements.

Coordinate with internal teams and print vendors to ensure files meet technical specifications and production requirements.

Review proofs and make revisions as needed to ensure final output meets quality and brand standards.
Apparel & Merchandise Design Support

Design and support DCR-branded apparel and merchandise, including t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, and promotional items.

Create print-ready apparel artwork while following established brand standards and creative direction.

Prepare and organize files for screen printing, embroidery, heat transfer, and other decoration methods.

Coordinate with internal teams and external apparel vendors to ensure accurate execution, proper file setup, and timely delivery.

Support seasonal apparel launches, reorders, and updates through efficient revisions and organized production files.

Final apparel concepts, product direction, and assortment decisions are led by the Design Supervisor and marketing leadership.
Photography

Execute professional-level product and lifestyle photography, including setup, lighting, shooting, editing, and delivery.

Capture photos of people, equipment, products, and staged environments as needed.

Maintain and organize a searchable photo library to support ongoing marketing and sales needs.
Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with the Design Supervisor, National Sales & Marketing Manager, and cross-functional teams to clarify project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.

Accurately implement feedback and revisions while maintaining efficiency, attention to detail, and a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Support marketing campaigns, packaging updates, product launches, trade show needs, and customer-facing creative materials.

Participate in creative discussions while staying focused on execution and production accuracy.
Project Management & Workflow Tools

Manage assigned design projects using Trello, following established workflows, timelines, and prioritization standards.

Maintain clear project communication by keeping Trello cards up to date with accurate statuses, notes, and file links.

Work efficiently within a shared project management system while balancing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.

Minimum 5 years of professional graphic design experience (in-house, agency, or freelance).

Portfolio required — must include examples of design work and photography.

Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Proficiency in Canva for collaborative and quick-turn design needs.

Strong professional photography skills, including product, lifestyle, and portrait photography.

Experience creating static graphics for social media.

Experience designing for apparel and merchandise production, including print and embroidery file preparation.

Familiarity with coordinating design files for external vendors and production partners.

Video creation experience is not required but considered highly preferred.

Strong understanding of layout, composition, color theory, and typography.

Extremely detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

Strong time management, organization, and communication skills.

Experience using Trello or similar project management tools to manage workflows and deadlines.
