Our client, a Los Angeles-based contemporary RTW brand, is looking for a Freelance Assistant or Associate Designer to join their team in a contract basis.
Responsibilities:
- Support Senior Designer by creating sketches, updating line sheets, preparing presentation boards for meetings, tracking SMS samples, creating fabric trend reports, reviewing lab dip, etc.
- Communicate daily with vendors ensuring all design, trim, and construction details are aligned with the production timeline.
- Investigate and assist as needed with line production problems associated with patterns, construction, trim.
- Conduct fabric and trim research.
- Participate in fittings and actively take notes.
- Create tech packs and update bill of materials in the PLM system.
- Work cross-functionally with Design, Pattern Makers, and Production to ensure all design updates and discrepancies are communicated.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical or Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or related field.
- 2+ years experience in contemporary or advanced contemporary branded design required.
- 1+ years of working with PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, and Microsoft Suite.
- Strong ability to communicate, thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
