Role Overview:

The IT Consultant/Freelancer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and maintenance of all devices and internet systems across our center. This role will involve regular check-ins, troubleshooting technical issues, system updates, and managing password security.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all computers, tablets, and smart devices are up to date and running smoothly
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues as they arise
Monitor and optimize internet and Wi-Fi network performance
Manage system security, including password protection, antivirus, and firewall tools
Set up new devices or tech equipment as needed
Provide basic tech support to staff when issues arise
Maintain backup systems and data protection protocols
Recommend upgrades or tech solutions to support center operations

Qualifications:

Proven experience in IT support, consulting, or tech troubleshooting (small business or educational setting preferred)
Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, iOS, etc.) and basic networking
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
Ability to communicate technical information in a clear, friendly way
Reliable, trustworthy, and detail-oriented

Additional Info:

This is a part-time, freelance role with flexible hours
Work can be done remotely with occasional on-site visits if local
Candidates must be comfortable working in a childcare/education environment
