We are a high-end a custom fabrication. We are seeking a freelance Project Manager to oversee the fabrication and coordination of a bespoke bronze and stone-clad fireplace project for a luxury residential property. This is a contract position limited to this project with a flat fee to be discussed after engagment.
Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the fabrication, procurement, and coordination of all materials, including bronze, stone, woven panels, resin, and fire-rated MDF. This role requires technical expertise in architectural metal fabrication, scheduling, and vendor management, as well as the ability to liaise between fabricators, vendors, and the client team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the fabrication and assembly of custom water-cut and brazed bronze paneling.
- Manage the procurement and coordination of materials including bronze, stone, resin panels, and woven cladding.
- Develop and maintain the project schedule (12-14 week lead time).
- Coordinate with fabricators, metalworkers, and stone suppliers to ensure quality and timeline adherence.
- Conduct on-site visits and field mock-ups to verify material integration and installation requirements.
- Manage budgeting, invoicing, and vendor payments in alignment with project milestones.
- Communicate regularly with clients, designers, and general contractors regarding project progress.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality control, and architectural specifications.
Requirements
- Experience in Project management in architectural metalwork, fabrication, or high-end construction.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication, CNC water cutting, brazing, and cladding installation. Experience working with luxury residential or commercial architectural projects. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and fabrication blueprints. Strong vendor negotiation and procurement skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, or SolidWorks is a plus
Compensation
- Flat project fee: TBD
- Contract-based role, limited to this specific project (estimated 12-14 weeks).
- No additional benefits—this is a freelance position.
