Job Title: Graphic Designer 1
Location: Stanford, CA 94305
Duration: 10 Months
Hybrid or remote optional
Part-time (average 15-20 hours per week)
Summary:
Assist in the development and execution of work performed in the field of visual communication.
Core duties:
- Under supervision from the Creative Director and Senior Designer, perform basic graphic design with limited scope/complexity in a broad range of projects. Projects include but are not limited to:
- Digital signage
- Storytelling visuals
- Slide templates based on provided art direction/design
- Social media projects
- Use brand/style guides to build infographics (using Illustrator and/or Prezi)
- Iconography
- Logo creation (following template)
- Resize art (photo & illustrations) for web, social, and print
- Format PDFs for accessibility
- Compile illustrations, photos, and pictures for graphic design assignments.
- Art to support research and/or school stories
- Photography options for social media posts
- Upload photos to our content management system and photo database
- Assist with scheduling of photo shoots
- Use job-required software applications and mediums to develop and design materials according to defined requirements.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of industry standards, trends, and state-of-the-art technology to provide and enhance services.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience (4 years) in related field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a must, plus interest/ability to learn additional tools
- Ability to identify and solve basic design problems.
- Experience in creating graphic designs.
- Understanding of typography best practices
- Ability to translate established design concepts/themes into finished pieces.
- Demonstrated understanding of job-required software applications and mediums.
- Strong organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated understanding of current industry standards, trends, and technical knowledge.
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver completed work on time.
- Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
- Part-time (average 20 hours per week), including some availability during standard business hours, to be agreed upon. A flexible schedule is a plus.
