Content Creator — The Move Chicago

Location: Chicago, IL (must be based in the city)

Type: Part-time / Contract, flexible hours

Compensation: $200/month flat rate + up to $150/month in comped food and drinks at featured venues (~3 videos/month).

The Move Chicago is Chicago's go-to platform for discovering the city's best happy hours and nightlife. We help people find where to go, what to drink, and when to get the best deals across every neighborhood in the city. We're building a brand that feels like a well-connected friend who always knows the move — editorial, energetic, and unmistakably Chicago.

The Role

We're looking for a Content Creator who lives the nightlife scene and can turn a night out into scroll-stopping video content. You'll be the face and eyes of The Move Chicago online — visiting bars, restaurants, and happy hour spots across the city, trying drinks and food, and capturing it all in short-form video that drives people to check out the spot (and the site) for themselves.

This isn't a desk job. You're out several nights a week, camera in hand, having a good time — and turning that into content that builds our audience and drives real foot traffic to the venues we feature.

What You'll Do

Frequent happy hours, bars, and restaurants across Chicago neighborhoods (assigned and self-sourced) to shoot content on-site
Try drinks and food items being featured — comfort with alcohol tasting/reviewing on camera is a must
Shoot and edit 3 short-form vertical videos per month (Reels/TikTok style) optimized for social engagement
Apply The Move Chicago's brand voice and aesthetic: editorial, bold, curiosity-driven — think "show the vibe, save the deal details for the site"
Turn around content quickly — ideally within 24–48 hours of a shoot
Collaborate on content calendar and venue coverage priorities (which neighborhoods, which spots, timing around new venue partnerships)
Occasionally appear on camera as a recurring face/personality for the brand
Stay current on Chicago's bar/restaurant openings and nightlife trends to help identify new content opportunities.

What We're Looking For

Based in Chicago and genuinely plugged into the going-out scene — you're already doing this, we just want to help you get paid for it
Strong video shooting skills (phone-based content is fine, but you know how to frame, light, and capture footage that looks good)
Video editing chops — comfortable with CapCut, Premiere Rush, InShot, or similar
Must be 21+ and comfortable consuming alcohol on camera as part of content
Outgoing, camera-comfortable personality — you don't need to be an influencer already, but you shouldn't be camera-shy
Reliable, self-directed, and able to manage your own schedule across multiple venue visits per week
Bonus: existing social following or content portfolio (send examples/links)
Bonus: experience with content scheduling tools, basic graphic design (Canva), or short-form copywriting

Compensation Details

$200/month flat rate, paid on the 1st of each month for the prior month's completed deliverables
Up to $150/month in comped food and drinks at featured venues while shooting content — either arranged directly with the venue or reimbursed with receipt (submit within the same month)
Deliverable: 3 videos/month, roughly one per week
30-day notice period either direction if either party wants to end the arrangement

A Few Things Worth Knowing

This role represents The Move Chicago publicly — professionalism and responsible alcohol consumption on camera matter, even in a fun, casual format
You'll need reliable transportation or comfort getting around the city efficiently between venues
Content ownership and usage rights will be discussed and confirmed before starting (brand will own published content; creator may be able to repost to personal channels — TBD)
This can grow into a larger role (potential equity/revenue share, expanded content responsibilities, or brand partnership work) as The Move Chicago scales
