Freelance news and feature writer

Overview:
We are seeking talented writers to cover meetings, do investigative work, write features for local newspaper on an as-needed basis.

Duties:
- Produce high-quality accurate written content for news coverage, features, etc.

- Proofread and edit content to ensure it meets quality standards
- Fact-check information to maintain credibility and accuracy
- Utilize strong communication skills to effectively convey messages to the target audience

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a writer or similar role
- Excellent proofreading skills with keen attention to detail
- Background in journalism or related field is preferred
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus
- Knowledge of videography and photography basics
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
- Experience in copywriting is advantageous

- Must have own transportation, camera (or phone), and knowledge of adobe creative suite is a plus..as are knowledge of billing and clerical software

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: $12.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 25 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
Nights as needed
On call
Weekends as needed

Experience:

Journalism: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:
