Sound of U Live, LLC is a premiere event and media company in Los Angeles, CA. The company throws concerts and festivals for up-and-coming musicians in the greater Los Angeles area. Sound of U Live is looking for a freelance copy editor for our news site www.soundofulive.com who can work fully remotely at any time they choose, so long as the job gets done. The pay is contract based and can and the role is remote. This is a contract role that can potentially become full-time. The ideal candidate:

1 year experience as a copy editor at a music publication
Must be a fact-checker who can spot and correct inaccuracies effectively and swiftly
Must be able to edit short news articles as well as long-form pieces such as exclusive celeb interviews, op-eds, etc.
Must work effectively in a fast-paced media environment
Must be extremely detail-oriented
Must be receptive to feedback
Must have knowledge of CMS platforms while able to learn Wordpress backend
Knowledge of SEO is a plus

Job Summary:

Duties:

Experience:

- Ability to write clear, compelling, and grammatically correct content
- Strong editing and copy editing skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in fact-checking information
- Creative writing skills
