Sans Serif is a Northern California-based B2B marketing and design firm seeking a sharp-eyed digital production designer for remote freelance work. This is a pipeline role — we're building a roster of trusted partners we can call on when project volume requires it. Work can be frequent or occasional depending on the season, but we want to establish the relationship before the need is urgent.

We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of experience working with corporate brands, digital design systems, and visual design broadly across complex, large-scale B2B projects. The right person is meticulous, passionate about their craft, and as engaged in the process as the final output. You thrive in collaboration, can jump into a project at any stage, and bring the kind of file discipline that makes handoffs seamless.

We prioritize candidates in US Pacific, Mountain, and Central time zones, though this is a preference rather than a hard requirement.

Meticulous craftsmanship across digital media — your files are clean, your layers are labeled, and your work holds up at the pixel level
Experience working within major Fortune 100-level brand systems
The ability to take concept files and tighten them into production-ready design systems for developer handoff
A sharp eye for consistency — you'll ensure designs look right at every size, format, and aspect ratio
Comfort with retouching and image finishing at a professional level
Adaptability across project types and stages — you can context-switch without losing precision
Intellectual curiosity and a consistent drive to improve your craft

Specific skills

Web and platform UI — Clean up concept files into tight, developer-ready design systems and assets
Digital ad campaigns — Maintain design integrity and consistency across formats and aspect ratios
Photo retouching and finishing — Pixel-level attention and professional-grade output
AI-assisted workflows — Familiarity with AI tools as part of a modern production workflow is a plus

Requirements

7+ years of design experience, preferably in an agency or design firm setting
Degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or related field — or equivalent professional experience
Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; working familiarity with AI-assisted design tools
Strong understanding of technical constraints for digital platforms
Clear communicator who can work independently across a remote team
A portfolio that includes web or digital production work and shows your process, not just final output — submissions without an online portfolio will not be considered

Pay scale

$75–$125/hour
