Overview of the Role

As a key member of the Brand Image and Experience team, the Community Manager, Social Media supports day-to-day community management and the strategic development of social content across multiple product categories and brand initiatives.

The ideal candidate is equal parts community builder, trend spotter, content strategist, and nimble creator. You possess a deep understanding of beauty culture, platform algorithms, influencer dynamics, social analytics, and emerging digital technologies (including AI tools).

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Management & Engagement (Primary)

Active Engagement: Monitor, publish, and engage reactively and proactively with fans, followers, creators, and consumers across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and X.
Customer Care Partnership: Partner with customer care teams and social agencies to manage response rates and escalate customer service needs.
Copywriting: Act as the primary social copywriter, drafting highly engaging, platform-native copy for organic and paid social content in the brand voice.
Giveaways & Administration: Manage end-to-end social giveaways (rules, winner selection, outreach, and fulfillment) and provide purchase order and administrative support for team projects.

2. Content Creation & Calendar Management

Content Creation & Social Presence: Support the creation of social-first content for brand channels, including capturing content at events, participating in behind-the-scenes or community-focused content when appropriate, and collaborating with brand partners, experts, and internal teams to bring stories to life across social platforms.
Calendar Strategy: Build, curate, and execute social media content calendars across owned social channels while aligning with internal partners.
Content Production: Drive end-to-end content development from concept through post-production. Support digital content shoots by capturing low-fidelity photo/video assets, behind-the-scenes footage, and real-time event coverage. Comfort appearing on camera is a plus.
Creative Briefing: Write clear and effective creative briefs for social agencies, creators, and partners to ensure content aligns with campaign objectives and category priorities.
Asset Optimization: Edit and tailor creative assets, including supervising and optimizing AI-generated imagery, to ensure they meet platform-specific best practices and formats.

3. Social Strategy, Insights & Trends

Trend Spotting: Leverage social listening, search behavior, competitive analysis, and cultural moments to identify timely content opportunities.
Analytics & Reporting: Track and report social KPIs and competitive insights using social analytics and listening platforms to deliver actionable performance recaps.
Innovation: Stay current on emerging platforms, AI tools, and content formats, proactively sharing recommendations and testing new strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Advocacy, Marketing, Digital, and Brand teams to align social activations with product launches, retail programs, and influencer initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience

1+ years of experience in social media, content creation, or community management (in-house, digital/PR agency, publisher, or creator-led business).

Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

Platform Expertise

Deep understanding of what drives performance on TikTok, Instagram (Reels/Stories), and YouTube Shorts.

Technical Skills

Proficient in mobile-first content capture and editing tools such as CapCut, Canva, or similar platforms.
Experience with social analytics and listening tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Dash Social, or similar platforms) is a plus.

Soft Skills

Strong collaborative mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
