Senior Account Executive, Social Strategy

What We Need

MikeWorldWide (MWW) is looking for a Senior Account Executive to join our Social and Community team, supporting corporate brands and executive leaders across social media. This role supports Fortune 500 brands and executive leaders, helping develop and execute social media strategies that build reputation, thought leadership and business impact.

The Senior Account Executive plays a critical role in managing day-to-day client relationships while partnering with senior team members to develop strategic recommendations, oversee execution and deliver exceptional client service. The ideal candidate is passionate about social media, intellectually curious, proactive, highly organized and comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously. Experience supporting executive thought leadership or corporate social media, particularly on LinkedIn, is highly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, anticipating client needs, providing proactive counsel, and troubleshooting challenges with thoughtful, social-first recommendations grounded in platform expertise and best practices.
Build trusted client relationships while ensuring all work aligns with client business and communications objectives and is delivered on time and within budget.
Demonstrate exceptional writing skills across client-facing communications, strategic documents, presentations, and social content.
Develop compelling social content and messaging across major platforms, with deep familiarity with LinkedIn and executive thought leadership content. Experience supporting executive social media is strongly preferred.
Develop integrated social media strategies including audience research, competitive analysis, content strategy, editorial planning, social listening, community management, measurement, and ongoing optimization.
Analyze channel performance and social conversation to identify meaningful insights, translating data into actionable recommendations that support client business objectives.
Lead strategy sessions, brainstorms, and presentations while confidently communicating recommendations to internal teams and clients.
Partner with creative, paid media, analytics, and account teams to develop integrated social programs that align with broader communications and marketing objectives.
Lead regular internal workstreams and client meetings, ensuring projects remain strategically aligned, on track, and moving forward efficiently.
Manage client content and editorial workflows, coordinating internal and client reviews while ensuring all deliverables are accurate, polished, and completed on schedule.
Deliver client-ready materials, including strategies, plans, presentations, memos, timelines, and reporting.
Support new business opportunities through research, strategic recommendations, proposal development, and presentations.
Mentor junior team members by providing guidance, constructive feedback and opportunities for growth while ensuring high-quality execution across accounts.

Experience Requirements

3–5 years of experience in social media strategy, communications, or public relations, preferably within an agency environment.
Experience developing and executing social media strategies from planning through measurement.
Experience supporting executive thought leadership, corporate communications, or B2B social media programs is highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work with senior executives and high-profile clients while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Proven ability to develop social strategies that align with broader business and communications objectives, not simply execute content calendars.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, including experience adapting messaging for executive audiences.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality work and exceptional client service.
Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail.
Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated understanding of how social media and owned content integrate with broader communications and earned media strategies.
Experience with social listening, publishing, and analytics platforms such as Meltwater, NetBase Quid, Brandwatch, Rival IQ, Sprinklr, SocialHP, or similar tools.
Experience using social monitoring and reporting tools to analyze performance and develop strategic recommendations.
Ability to travel as necessary based on client and new business needs.

Success Factors

The ideal candidate:

Maintains a thorough understanding of clients' businesses, industries, and the trends that shape their communications and reputation.
Thinks strategically, creatively, and proactively while approaching challenges with curiosity and sound judgment.
Demonstrates strong critical thinking by using data, platform expertise, and business context to develop actionable client recommendations.
Translates observations into insights that inform strategy and help clients achieve measurable business outcomes.
Exhibits intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail.
Builds strong relationships across teams and work collaboratively while taking ownership of projects and outcomes.
Mentors and coaches junior team members, creating opportunities for learning and professional growth.
Participates in agency development by collaborating across practice areas and contributing to new business opportunities.
Stays current on platform capabilities, social trends, AI tools, and emerging technologies, thoughtfully incorporating them into client work while applying strong editorial judgment and strategic oversight.
Demonstrates motivation, accountability, and a "can-do" attitude while contributing positively to an integrated team environment.
