Job Description:

The Software Engineering SME will collaborate with Learning Experience Designers to enhance one - or several - courses within the educational program. The SME will review program design (including competencies and skills), create evidence statements for each competency, identify key topics for each competency and create a course outline, suggest learning resources, and provide insights on technology and tools.

Courses range from core topics to Domain-Driven Design, DevOps Engineering, and AI/ML and SMEs will be assigned to the most fitting project based on expertise.

This freelance contract is 100% remote, however, candidates must be US-based. Candidates may be expected to work 35-40 hours per week for an estimated duration of 4-5 months

Responsibilities and Duties:

Review Program Design: Evaluate competencies, evidence statements, and skill alignment
Identify Topics: Outline topics for each module/competency
Suggest Learning Resources: Recommend relevant materials and tools
Consult on Technology: Provide insights on potential technology or tools as needed
Collaborate with Learning Experience Designers: Review program design and create evidence statements for each competency
Create Course Outlines: Identify topics and develop course outlines
Provide Feedback: Suggest learning resources and potential technology or tools

Qualifications:

Education: PhD (Preferred) OR Master’s (Required) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer and Information Systems, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence
Experience: Minimum 2 years in a software engineer/developer role with a PhD, or 5 years with a Master’s. 2 years instructional experience preferred
Useful Certifications: PMP, Project+, Security+, CISSP, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Professional for Software Architecture (CPSA)
Useful Technologies: Python, Java, C#, GitHub, Jira, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch
