Freelance Search Marketing Specialist

Legend Creative Group is seeking an experienced Freelance Search Marketing Specialist to support our Digital Marketing team on a contract basis.

This is an independent freelance opportunity for a search marketing professional who can step into client accounts, manage campaigns and provide strategic recommendations across Paid Search, SEO and AEO. Work may include ongoing monthly account support as well as project-based assignments depending on client needs.

The ideal freelancer is analytical, strategic and comfortable working independently while collaborating with our internal account, content, design and development teams. You should be able to take ownership of assigned search marketing initiatives, communicate recommendations clearly and deliver measurable results.

Responsibilities:

Planning, setting up, and managing PPC campaigns for clients.
Tracking, analyzing, and reporting results on campaign performance.
Understanding clients' digital marketing goals in order to translate goals into executable strategies through ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
Owning the entire paid search channel, driving numbers, converting them into real leads and ultimately revenue.
Identifying KPIs and completing work as needed to improve clients' ad performance.
Conducting keyword research, advising on ad spend and ad placement, testing ad copy, and optimizing campaigns for lean performance.
Working with production teams, ensuring websites are optimized for PPC success.
Developing and implementing SEO and AEO strategies to improve clients’ visibility across traditional search engines and AI-powered search and answer platforms.
Conducting technical, on-page, and content SEO audits and providing recommendations related to website structure, metadata, schema markup, internal linking, crawlability, and performance.
Researching keywords, search intent, customer questions, and conversational queries to guide content that performs in organic search results and AI-generated answers.
Working with design teams to provide creative direction.
Staying current on PPC, SEO, AEO, and SEM practices and collaborating with peers on the Digital Marketing team.

Requirements:

3+ years of PPC / SEM experience.
Google Ads and Google Analytics Certified with experience in Google Tag Manager.
Highly proficient with all types of Google Ads, including Search Ads, Display Ads, Remarketing, Google Shopping Ads, YouTube Ads, and more.
Experience with additional ad platforms, including Yahoo! Bing Network, Amazon, Facebook, Advertising.com, AdRoll, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, and others.
Skilled in Google Analytics and able to set up and troubleshoot complex conversion tracking.
In-depth understanding of search engines, up-to-date techniques, ranking factors, and principles for sound SEM strategy.
Knowledge of web design technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and related platforms.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts both verbally and in writing to clients.
Strong time management skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Ability to think logically and develop practical recommendations for clients to support their digital marketing strategies and efforts.

Freelance Engagement

This is a freelance / independent contractor opportunity, not a full-time staff position. Assignments and hours may vary based on client workload and project needs.

The freelancer will work with Legend Creative Group's internal team to complete agreed-upon search marketing services, manage assigned deadlines and provide updates on active work. Engagements may include recurring monthly account management, campaign launches, audits, optimization projects and other search marketing initiatives.

We are looking for someone who can become a reliable extension of our digital marketing team and take ownership of assigned search marketing work without requiring extensive day-to-day oversight.
