Job Summary UI/UX Application Designer (NYC, NY)

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Duration: 12 months contract (possible extension)
Team: Join a group of 20 engineers and product managers focused on enhancing the rider experience for buses and subways.
Experience Required: 9+ years in UX design, with a strong focus on mobile applications and complex digital products.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain design systems and style guides for consistent digital experiences (including NYCT/LIRR/MNR signage).
Partner with user research teams to understand rider needs, behaviors, and pain points; maintain a continual user feedback loop.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align on user needs and business goals.
Work with the Creative team to ensure MTA brand alignment.
Present design concepts and research findings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Establish and document UX processes and best practices.
Implement user testing and quality control measures.
