Social Media & Content Repurposing Manager

Functional Fueling Nutrition®

Part-Time | Remote | Must be located in Southern California for occasional content filming and in person events

About Functional Fueling Nutrition®

Functional Fueling Nutrition® is an award-winning functional nutrition practice specializing in thyroid, immune, hormonal, and metabolic health for active women.

Founded by Registered Dietitian and author Lauren Papanos, Functional Fueling Nutrition® combines functional nutrition with sports nutrition to help women better understand the underlying factors contributing to chronic health symptoms and build the capacity to return to the active lives they love.

We are looking for a creative, organized, and strategic Social Media & Content Repurposing Manager to help translate our existing long-form educational content into engaging, thoughtful social media content.

The Role

This role is ideal for someone who loves taking a strong piece of long-form content and finding multiple ways to bring it to life across social media.

Rather than constantly creating content from scratch, you’ll work primarily from Lauren's existing:

YouTube videos
Functional Fueling Podcast episodes
Blog articles
Newsletters and educational content

Your job will be to identify the strongest ideas, moments, and educational takeaways from this content and turn them into compelling Instagram and TikTok content that feels cohesive with the Functional Fueling brand.

Our goal is to create a social presence that feels calm, educational, hopeful, credible, and human while speaking to active women navigating chronic health concerns.

Key Responsibilities

Content Curation & Repurposing

Review weekly YouTube videos, podcast episodes, blog posts, and other long-form content.
Identify compelling educational concepts, quotes, stories, and moments that can become social content.
Turn long-form content into Instagram Reels, TikToks, carousels, static posts, and Stories.
Pull short-form video clips from podcast and YouTube footage and edit them for Instagram and TikTok.
Develop hooks, on-screen text, captions, and CTAs that preserve Lauren's voice while making content engaging and accessible.
Identify opportunities to resurface relevant evergreen content from the existing Functional Fueling library.

Social Media Management

Build and maintain a consistent Instagram and TikTok content calendar.
Schedule and publish approved content.
Format posts appropriately for each platform rather than simply cross-posting identical content.
Maintain a cohesive visual and editorial style across social channels.
Organize content assets and maintain an accessible content library.
Help ensure promotions for the podcast, YouTube channel, book, programs, and Functional Fueling services are naturally integrated into the content calendar.

Strategy & Optimization

Monitor content performance and identify topics, formats, hooks, and themes that resonate most strongly with the audience.
Provide simple monthly insights on what is working and what could be adjusted.
Recommend opportunities to repurpose high-performing content into additional formats.
Help create a sustainable content ecosystem in which one long-form piece of content can generate multiple social assets.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate:

Has experience managing Instagram and TikTok for a personal brand, health professional, wellness company, or educational brand.
Has a high attention to detail and is skilled at visual storytelling
Is especially strong at content repurposing and storytelling, not just posting and scheduling.
Can identify the most compelling idea within a 30–60 minute podcast or YouTube video.
Has strong short-form video editing skills.
Understands how to write strong hooks without relying on clickbait or fear-based messaging.
Has excellent written communication and can learn and preserve an established brand voice.
Understands the balance between educational authority and approachable, human content.
Has a strong visual eye and can work within an established brand aesthetic.
Is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
Understands that health and nutrition content requires nuance and accuracy.

Experience working with Registered Dietitians, functional medicine practitioners, health professionals, authors, or science-based wellness brands is strongly preferred.

Important Brand Considerations

Functional Fueling Nutrition® discusses complex topics related to thyroid physiology, immune health, reproductive health, metabolism, exercise, and nutrition.

We are not looking for someone to independently create clinical or medical claims.

Lauren and the Functional Fueling clinical team will remain responsible for clinical messaging and accuracy. This role is responsible for translating approved educational material into clear, engaging social content without oversimplifying, sensationalizing, or changing its meaning.

Our content should never feel fear-based, overly clinical, gimmicky, or like wellness clickbait.

Example Weekly Workflow

A typical week might include reviewing one new podcast episode and one YouTube video and turning those assets into:

2–3 short-form video clips/Reels/TikToks
1 educational carousel or static post
Supporting Instagram Stories
Captions, hooks, and CTAs
Scheduling approved content across Instagram and TikTok

You may also pull from existing blogs, podcast archives, or YouTube videos when there is an opportunity to resurface an especially relevant topic.

The goal is quality and thoughtful curation over constant content production.

Success in This Role Looks Like

Within this role, social media becomes an extension of the content Lauren is already creating—not another major content-production responsibility.

You are successfully:

Creating a consistent social presence without requiring Lauren to constantly create new material specifically for Instagram.
Turning long-form educational content into concise, engaging social content.
Maintaining Lauren's voice and Functional Fueling's clinical credibility.
Growing awareness of the Functional Fueling Podcast, YouTube channel, The Thyroid Breakthrough, and Functional Fueling Nutrition®.
Helping the right women recognize themselves in the content and understand how Functional Fueling may be able to support them.

To Apply

Please send:

A brief introduction and overview of your relevant experience
Examples of Instagram/TikTok accounts you currently manage or have managed
3–5 examples of short-form videos or social posts you have created
An example of how you have repurposed long-form content into social media content
Your availability and preferred monthly or hourly rate
Bonus: Choose one Functional Fueling podcast episode, YouTube video, or blog post and briefly share 2–3 social content ideas you would pull from it.
