Family Style, a new arts & culture magazine and digital platform, is currently seeking a freelance assistant to start immediately in its New York office.

About Family Style

At the intersection of food and culture, Family Style is led by the most impactful creative minds of our time whose origins range from the New York Times and Vogue magazine, to the United Nations. In the pages of the arts & culture coffee-table book magazine, at its one-of-a-kind ephemeral experiences, and through captivating digital/social content, Family Style invites readers from around the world to the most fascinating affairs where the cultural conversation begins.

This is an entry-level, full time position that encompasses a combination of administrative and creative responsibilities, both aiding and participating in the editorial process. Applicants must have experience in journalism and media, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. Ideal candidates will also have vested interests in art, fashion, and design, and a willingness to finish projects to completion.

General responsibilities and requirements include:

Being available five days a week and weekends when needed with advance notice given
Being available in office five days a week from 9 AM until 6 PM unless otherwise stated or agreed upon
Opening and closing the office, located in downtown New York and executing office operations
Managing Editor-in-Chief's day-to-day calendar
Coordinating team meetings and communications, keeping notes for important meetings
Overseeing Family Style's internship program, including hiring, scheduling, and managing interns, assigning tasks, training, and coordinating all processes
Researching themes, projects, topics, etc.
Assisting with the creation of sales and marketing materials
Managing issue and item send outs for contributors, advertisers, and more
Jumping into and leading special projects when needed
