Job Description

The Graphic Designer is responsible for producing all the artwork for the field artists to replicate onto transoms of yachts. As the Graphic Designer, you will convert the customer’s visions into designs that capture all their details. Once selections have been made, the artwork must be converted to a plot file for the artists to print.

In this role, your success is all about creativity, managing priorities, creating and maintaining relationships, and supporting the team so they may be most efficient. In this highly visible role, your excellent communication and collaboration is paramount. You will analyze situations and exercise sound judgement in determining appropriate courses of action.

Job Responsibilities

Remote Position – 100% work-from-home:

May request quarterly in-person meetings in Outer Banks, NC or Jensen Beach, FL

Transom Design:

Receive new design requests and produce final transom artwork
Integrate coloring, fonts, features, graphics, and custom requests
Design variations to present to the Art Director for selection
Convert selected artwork into plot files for artists to print
Provide a report for the artist with design, detail and coloring
Upload all content to the shared drive

Marketing Assistance:

Graphic design for marketing and social media
Photo editing, page layout and marketing concepts for print and website

Minimum Qualifications

All the qualifications below are the minimum necessary attributes to be considered for the role.

Associate degree in graphic design, preferred Bachelor’s degree
Artist with passion for drawing and experience in typography and graphic design (preferred 5 years)
Preferred sign shop experience/production process dealing with print resolution and vector graphics
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and appropriately with high-level professionals and customers
Experience Apple user with current hardware and software
Proficient in Adobe products (Illustrator and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication and organization skills and time management skills
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Photo resizing and page layout for web design and print advertising (phase 2)

Compensation Package

Commission/hourly pay structure
Work for hire

Note: based on performance and organization fit, a full time position may become available after a minimum of 12 months

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
