Summary:

Open for immediate hire. This is a part-time role.

We’re a creative company looking for someone who understands all levels of professional decorum and brings a creative mindset to a wide range of illustration and graphic design tasks.

We are looking for a creative illustrator with graphic design experience who can turn client ideas into reality, with a strong attention to detail.

Required Skills:

Ability to hand sketch ideas received from clients and refine designs in illustration software
Proven track record and portfolio of creativity in a range of styles
Ability to serve the styles of varying entities from artistic clients to corporate or governmental agencies.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong eye for design
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, along with a working knowledge of InDesign
Strong understanding of typography
Creativity in curating mood boards
Attend client meetings, ask questions that lead the design process, and create designs that meet the clients expectations
Strong understanding of the technical aspects of graphic design including print standards versus digital, bleeds, margins, CMYK, RGB, aspect ratios, file sizes, font sizes for large scale, accessibility, WCAG 2.2, and contrast ratios.
Ability to proofread the work: Make your best effort to catch client typos in the work
Great people skills: able to work with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, maintain a friendly, professional, and positive attitude in a variety of situations.
Proven track record of branding and logo creation
Bachelor’s degree in a similar field and 3 years of experience in an agency or firm OR five years of professional experience in firm or agency.

Preferred skills:

Hand lettering or typography design
Illustration skills
Graphic art skills
Strong written skills

Plus:

Strong knowledge of San Jose.
Bilingual with the ability to speak/write in Spanish or Vietnamese, and translate short phrases, is a plus.

Pay Range: $30/hr - $40/hr or equivalent salary, commensurate with experience.
