This freelance role will oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive paid, earned, and owned social media strategy, focusing on engaging multicultural audiences. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, including a Social Media Manager to deliver innovative and effective social media campaigns. Your leadership will provide strategic oversight to help drive brand awareness, loyalty, and growth, ensuring alignment with overarching business goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of an integrated social media strategy targeting Gen Z multicultural audiences across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and X.
- Collaborate with internal teams (media, PR, account management) to ensure social media plans align with broader business and client marketing objectives.
- Guide content and influencer engagement strategies that support the brand’s overall objectives.
Social Media Transformation & Innovation:
- Drive the shift from traditional marketing to digital and social-first strategies, focusing on brand building, loyalty, and consumer engagement.
- Utilize a broad social media toolkit (SEO, email, web video, and social) to optimize earned media and improve brand performance.
- Work alongside Creative team to assist in concepting ideas ensuring all ideas are achievable and following platform realities and best practices.
- Design comprehensive platform and rollout strategies to maximize client channels as well as better integrate the paid, earned, and owned ecosystem.
- Lead the team in leveraging social media analytics to inform decision-making and improve campaign effectiveness.
Client & Team Management:
- Act as the primary client-facing lead for social media initiatives, ensuring seamless communication and strategic direction.
- Manage day-to-day social media activities, ensuring timely responses and high-quality deliverables.
Consumer Insights & Analytics:
- Continuously monitor social media trends and consumer behavior to uncover new opportunities for the brand.
- Partner with the Strategists to leverage data and insights, driving informed decisions across the marketing mix.
- Lead the development of performance reports for all earned media campaigns, using tools like Sprinklr for comprehensive analysis.
Innovation & Functional Development:
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure social media strategies are aligned with client innovation goals.
- Identify opportunities for relevant social media innovations that enhance brand engagement and market relevance.
- Build external partnerships and resources to scale the agency’s social media capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of experience in digital and social media strategy and activation, ideally within an agency environment.
Proven expertise in developing and executing integrated social media campaigns targeting multicultural audiences.
Deep knowledge of social platforms and tools to drive brand and retail success.
Exceptional communication, strategic, and presentation skills, with experience interacting confidently with senior clients.
Strong project management and leadership skills, with a track record of working within cross-functional teams.
A creative and innovative mindset, with a keen ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Experience working in multicultural markets.
