The Freelance Digital Marketing & Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining the Union Square Donuts online presence. The individual in this role is expected to work one-on-one with team members and management team to capture content, learn about new products, assist in developing the brand and present the business to the public in a clear, streamlined manner through several social media channels as well as marketing campaigns.
Duties and responsibilities
- Social Media Management: Create, curate, and publish engaging content across various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram) to increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and foster community engagement.
- Content Creation: Develop relevant and compelling content, including posts, graphics, videos, and other multimedia assets, and tailor them to specific social media channels and target audiences.
- Community Engagement: Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages and proactively engage with followers to build relationships and enhance brand loyalty.
- Aware of the Latest Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in digital marketing and social media to continuously innovate and enhance our services.
- Communicate: Engage with the Company’s leadership team to ensure brand standards are being maintained and gain insight into the direction of upcoming campaigns.
Qualifications
- Digital Native with at least one year of professional experience, preferably in the food/bev industry.
- Critical thinking skills and attention to detail to creatively solve technical problems.
- Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and developing innovative strategies
- Tech-savvy and passionate about the impact of digital innovation on the community.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, content management systems, and digital analytics tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and engage with diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
- Growth mindset and a desire and willingness to learn and stay on top of industry trends.
- Basic graphic design skills for internal social media banners, email templates, etc.
Compensation is variable based on experience and skillset.
