Edelman is seeking a dynamic and experienced Freelance Talent Acquisition Manager with a specific focus on freelance hiring. In this role, you will be responsible for attracting, sourcing, and onboarding top freelance talent to support our organization's needs. You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining a network of freelancers specialized in Creative, Design, and Digital, ensuring a steady pipeline of talent to support various projects and initiatives.
You’ll be joining a collaborative Talent Acquisition team that is creative, supportive, inspired, and passionate about the work they do to attract and retain the best talent for a large and diverse portfolio of clients.
Responsibilities
- Freelancer Sourcing and Acquisition:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sourcing strategy to identify and attract freelance talent through various channels, including online job boards, social media, professional networks, and industry events.
- Collaborate in close partnership with our US Resource Management team and hiring managers to quickly understand their freelance hiring needs and develop job descriptions that accurately reflect those requirements.
- Proactively reach out to potential freelance candidates and build relationships to create a talent pool and bench for current and future needs.
Screening and Evaluation:
- Conduct thorough interviews and assessments to evaluate the qualifications and suitability of freelance candidates for specific projects.
- Ensure that freelance candidates align with the organization's values, culture, and project requirements.
Talent Pipeline Management:
- Maintain a well-organized database of freelance talent using our Applicant Tracking System and monitor their availability, skills, project status, and performance.
- Proactively engage and nurture relationships with freelance talent, ensuring that high-performing talent remains engaged with our organization.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate closely with Resource Management and hiring managers, finance, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and make informed talent recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with freelancers regarding project details, expectations, and contractual arrangements.
- Act as a liaison with area employment agencies, temporary/direct hire agencies, and professional organizations, if/as needed.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously assess and improve the freelance hiring process, including streamlining onboarding, contract management, and reporting.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and trends in freelance hiring.
Compliance and Legal Considerations:
- Ensure that freelance hiring practices adhere to labor laws and regulations, including contract management, tax considerations, and compliance with relevant employment laws.
- Ensure compliance with EEO/AA requirements and assist with the development and implementation of diversity initiatives
About You
- You’re a multi-tasking wizard with an impressive ability to successfully manage multiple projects and searches under pressure
- You have a professional, outgoing working style, with the ability to effectively manage and negotiate with a wide range of personalities and talent
- You use creative sourcing techniques beyond LinkedIn and can make strategic recommendations
- You have a basic to advanced understanding of skills and talent specific to Creative, Design, Production, Strategy, and Content Creation (Motion Design/Video Editing).
- You are highly organized and experienced in recruitment and/or project management tools and systems (e.g., Excel, SmartSheet, Lever)
- You possess excellent communication skills — verbal and written — and the ability to flex your comms style with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds (e.g., Project Management, Finance, Creative Directors, etc.)
- You possess good judgment and the ability to uphold confidentiality
- You are highly efficient in your work but rarely get flustered by changes in plans, last-minute needs, and the realities that come with a fast-paced, ever-changing agency environment
- You’re self-motivated and instinctively solutions-oriented, with the ability to work proactively with a team and independently
Basic Qualifications
- At least 5-7 years experience in a recruitment, talent management, production, or related role within a Production, PR, Creative, Digital, and/or Advertising agency environment.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
$60 - $70 an hour
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
