Position: Manager of Freelance Software Development
Location: Remote/Flexible
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a team of freelance software developers, ensuring alignment with project goals and deadlines. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Project Coordination: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize your extensive experience in software development and engineering to guide the team in developing robust, scalable, and secure software solutions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all software development activities comply with industry regulations and standards, including FDA Quality System Regulations, IEC60601, IEC62304, ASPICE, and ISO26262.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive integration of software components with overall product design.
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Leverage your deep understanding of object-oriented methodology and modern development tools to solve complex challenges and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Over 30 years of engineering experience in product development and design, with at least 18 years in management roles.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional software development teams in the MedTech industry.
- Expertise in managing long lifecycle mission-critical software projects.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements in a regulated industry.
- Experience with a variety of development tools and languages, including C/C++, Python, and .NET, as well as project management tools like Jira and GitHub.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage remote teams effectively.
Education:
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
