FOVNDRY seeks a seasoned Social Media Manager + Copywriter to join our N. Bethesda (Rockville), MD-based team. This is a freelance role, and can be conducted either remotely or in person. The ideal candidate is versed in the development of optimized, performance-driven content for social media (and blogs / thought leadership) aligned with platform best practices; industry trends; and client brands, goals, and audiences. While this candidate will support a variety of clients, industries are heavily focused on real estate, professional, and consumer services. This role requires consistent content development and proven copywriting expertise for social channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor client industries, audiences, competitors, and news
- Monitor social media industry trends; stay on top of best practices and platform changes to provide optimized, performance-driven content
- Draft monthly content calendars for assigned accounts, aligned with client goals and initiatives
- Draft social media and thought leadership / blog content for assigned accounts; both planned, and reactive
- In coordination with account directors, work with cross-functional teams (i.e.: graphic designers) to produce corresponding visual assets
- Handle daily social media monitoring and engagement for assigned accounts
- Participate in internal planning meetings, brainstorm sessions, and the development of digital content strategies
- Monitor content / platform performance and provide recommendations for improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of related experience required
- BA or BS in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications
- Demonstrated proficiency with social media platforms required
- Strong writing and proofreading skills
- Ability to prioritize, accountable in meeting deadlines, and a willingness to take ownership
