What Now Media Group, INC is looking for a self-starter, go-getter freelance writer, and researcher to contribute daily pre-opening restaurant news across our portfolio of publications. This role is self-managed and is expected to be completed Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include finding newsworthy material by combing through a variety of sources, conducting interviews with business owners, crafting our "Partner Alerts," and publishing news articles to our platform and social media.
Candidates should be curious, enthusiastic, and resourceful, with a sharp sense of humor, a competitive drive, and the ability to self-manage. This position is best suited for someone who is impeccable with time management, multi-tasking, and completing daily recurring tasks.
Experience in journalism and hospitality reporting, or some kind of news experience, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Dig through various sources like building permit filings, neighborhood planning meetings, etc., to uncover yet-to-be-announced and planned restaurants.
- Conduct interviews over the telephone and via email to write six (6) weekly news stories and their corresponding "Partner Alerts" (B2B articles) covering yet-to-open and yet-to-be-announced restaurants.
- Publish the news to our platform and share it across our social channels.
