Position Description
We’re seeking a junior editorial designer to work directly with our founding team on multiple fast-paced projects for high-profile clients. In this role, you’ll focus on editorial layout for multiple print clients, including photography selection, artwork curation, and typesetting based on existing design templates. Over time, we hope for this role to take on more growth opportunities including client communication and project management. Additional creative projects at the studio include a wide range of brand strategy and web design work, which we encourage participation on as time allows. We’re looking for someone bursting with ideas and creative references. Someone with a deep love of culture, history, and technology, and who is a determined optimist. Most importantly, you’ll be a pixel-perfect designer, great at time management, and an effective communicator. This position requires someone based in New York who wants to work in our office two to three days per week.
Prerequisites
- Excellent proficiency in Adobe InDesign
- Excellent proficiency in Figma.
- Required proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work and plan both independently and as a collaborator.
- Previous internship or freelance experience on editorial projects.
- Recent graduate of design school (communication/graphic design, industrial design, etc.)
- Ambition to work in a young and growing studio
Nice to haves
- Experience working across a variety of mediums (print, digital, web).
- Proficiency in animation/motion design. (After Effects)
- Interest or experience in other kinds of creative software (C4D, Creative Coding, Unreal etc).
Job Type: 4-6 month contract
Time: 3 days / week (24+ hrs per week)
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour (depending on experience)
