OVERVIEW:

The Instructional Designer position is responsible for consulting with internal stakeholders to recommend learning solutions, managing and creating instructional design training materials, collaborating with partners and across the enterprise, and designing and developing learning solutions. The position will also manage mid to large-scale instructional design initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop training course material using instructional design techniques in conjunction with adult learning theory
Filter incoming training requests, size the project, create a delivery timeline, and work collaboratively to determine the best method for delivering the training
Serve as liaison to training request stakeholders to capture all relevant information and ensure the project is delivered on-time and according to all request specifications
Build assessments to support and analyze learning effectiveness
Create training and job aids for instructor-led and online delivery
Develop learning objectives to include audience, behavior, conditions, and standards
Build webpages, portals, or widgets as needed to support training initiatives
Design and create a variety of materials, and apply fundamental research skills to instructional design projects
Assess the current state of training content across Asurion’s accounts and drive improvements, creativity, and innovation in the way training content is displayed and distributed

Develop and implement multiple learning projects, potentially including (but not limited to) learning games, blended learning, simulations, VR/AR training, animations, graphics, reference guides, instructor-led training, and self-paced training
Assist the LMS administration with the identification and management of new training distribution platforms

EXPERIENCE:

Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Experience with the creative use of instructional design technologies
Expertise in adult learning and all aspects of instructional design for various formats, including instructor-led, eLearning, mobile, and various types of performance support
Superior organizational, communication, and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines, manage heavy workloads and prioritize tasks
Hiring and managing freelance content producers
Experience using Instructional Design software such as Articulate Storyline, etc.
Demonstrated expertise leading teams to achieve results
Experience leading teams through major changes, empowering others to lead, and providing coaching when needed

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Understanding of next-generation technologies related to cloud, mobile, social, or big data
Experience with administrative duties including submitting IT tickets and managing data
2+ years experience applying instructional design and adult learning methodologies to development and implementation of web-based training and other instructional materials
