JOB FUNCTION
The Sr. Strategist resides in the Strategy & Analytics Department and reports to the President of Ignited and Leadership Team. The primary purpose of the role is to be the lead marketing strategist for various agency accounts and support new business efforts.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as lead strategist for various client accounts.
- Conceiving, researching, presenting, and implementing high-level integrated strategies based on client objectives and target audiences
- Create strategic marketing plans that deliver on client’s business objectives and goals.
- Present marketing strategy plans to clients and work collaboratively with them to evolve plans as needed.
- Author high-level strategic briefs that guide all required internal disciplines for any strategic initiative.
- Author insightful creative briefs and brief creative teams to generate creative work that brings the marketing strategy to life.
- Work closely with creative teams to review and offer feedback on creative work. Be able to identify strong creative ideas and support through strategic argument.
- Create high-level marketing analytics plans and work with internal analysts to guide the generation of marketing analytics reports for campaigns.
- Utilize consumer and marketplace research to generate insights that can guide marketing strategy.
- Experience leading quantitative and/or qualitative research studies preferred
- Stay on top of marketplace trends across marketing, consumer behavior, and technology.
- When applicable, extract insights from analytics information to offer recommended optimizations to marketing strategy and execution.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing strategy or similar/equivalent
- MBA in marketing strategy preferred
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in a strategy role at an advertising agency
- Ability to write high-quality creative briefs
- Ability to effectively brief, work with and guide creative teams
- Ability to create effective marketing presentations and deliver presentations to both internal teams and external client teams
- Expert knowledge of digital marketing and social media
- Experience and familiarity with various marketing analytics tools such as Google Analytics, social media native analytics tools, and 3rd party social engagement and conversation analytics such as Simply Measured
Qualifications
- If necessary for a specific account(s), must have the ability to undergo a background investigation and obtain and maintain a U.S. Government contractor employment suitability determination (i.e., personnel security clearance)
