This is a multifaceted role, a mix of art direction vision and a very strong hands-on creative creation and execution. Bringing a creative vision to life through social media, POS and company visual materials to elevate Gelatys’ brand presence with shoppers, consumers and customers.
You will be responsible to interpret and create compelling and impactful visual experiences and executions that align with the company’s objectives. You will be also responsible to elevate the visual identity of the brand and to create visual content and design style, from production to artworks, in partnership with the CEO and the CMO.
You will take into consideration the target audience and market trends combining artistic vision with strategic thinking for nimble, breakthrough brand executions, ensuring visual brand continuity.
You will be required to understand brand objectives and requirements, and work closely with the CEO and the CMO to create and ensure that the visual designs effectively communicate the desired message.
Responsibilities
- Elevate the brand style and visual guidelines.
- Support in concepting and execution of breakthrough and effective designs by leveraging skills such as rendering/sketching, illustration and storytelling.
- Develop marketing campaigns, promotional materials and designs from start to finish that align with the Gelatys brand for touchpoints such as digital marketing, merch, trade shows, influencer kits, animation/video, photography, packaging, etc.
- Create visual content, such as high-quality graphics and videos for social media.
- Execute packaging design explores inclusive of competitive and category research. Be the liaison between packaging and printing vendors to ensure quality creative outcomes.
- Manage Gelatys social media platforms. Including publishing, community management, paid campaigns and reporting.
- Ideate concepts for short form content and small photoshoots, recommending photographers, illustrators, and other collaborators to potentially work with.
- Lead the creative to build company and brand presentations.
- Maintain and revamp the graphics, video and visual content of the company’s website.
- Coordinate any third party marketing services, such as influencers.
Qualifications
- BA or BFA in graphic design, visual communication, or any relevant field of study.
- A background of working as part of a design team, minimum 2+ plus years of experience in a design-focused role.
- Proficient in industry design software; InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop. Animation skills a plus.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, colors and layout.
- Open-minded to embrace new ideas and trends and adapt to the needs of different projects, a fast-moving competitive landscape, and a fast-changing startup environment.
- The ability to see projects through from inception to production.
- Consistency in execution regardless of project size.
- Must have a passion for all things design and believe in elevating brands through it.
- Experience in proposing and pitching new ideas.
- Participate on set with photographers, food and prop stylists.
- Must have the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate design thinking and execution internally and externally.
- Organized and a strong project manager. Time management is essential to be successful in your job and in meeting project deadlines, ensuring an efficient workflow.
- Creative, respectful, remains cool under pressure.
- Thrives in ambiguity and large amounts of autonomy.
- Bilingual in English and in Spanish, with an understanding of both cultural nuances.
Work environment:
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in communicating with coworkers, leadership team and external collaborators.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Occasional moderate to heavy lifting and carrying, bending, and reaching overhead may be required.
Compensation:
Part-time role (80 hours a week)
