What we’re looking for

Ametra Advisors is seeking an experienced Senior-level Accountant who is committed to delivering exceptional internal and external customer service in a virtual work environment. This is an external client-facing role and the successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with business owners and decision makers.

Duties/Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will report to the firm Partner and work closely with colleagues throughout the firm. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Gaining an understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives and utilizing that knowledge on engagements.
  • Build long-lasting relationships through ongoing support and excellent customer service.
  • Assisting multiple clients with the full accounting process, i.e. maintaining the general ledger, generating, and posting all journal entries promptly, coordinating monthly close, maintaining budgets and reporting on budget to actual, and preparing monthly financial statements with related work papers.
  • Working with company owners and client personnel for smooth transaction processing, issue resolution, and responding to client requests and inquiries.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial reports to help our clients run their businesses.
  • Assisting clients in preparing annual budgets, maintaining forecasts, and monitoring these to actual results.
  • Monitoring relevant KPIs and keeping client apprised of any deviations from expectations.
  • Researching accounting or reporting issues as needed
  • Performing systems process improvements and documentation of processes.
  • Supporting management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and other tasks as necessary.
  • Adhering to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality

Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrates thorough knowledge, abilities, and/or proven record of success in the following:

  • Working with a startup/small-size business ($1-15M in annual revenue)
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • General ledger accounting with proficiency in U.S. GAAP
  • Month-end and year-end close processes and deadlines
  • Analytical skills and ability to interpret complex reports, needs, and documentation
  • Presentation skills and an ability to explain accounting issues clearly and succinctly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work collaboratively with teams
  • Project management with high attention to detail, a problem solver, and intellectual curiosity
  • Effectively managing time, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines
  • Working independently, taking initiative, and willing to assume ownership of assigned projects and duties
  • QuickBooks Online, ERPs, and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
  • MS Excel
  • SaaS platforms: Monday.com, Slack, Bill.com, Ramp, HubDoc, Reach Reporting, and/or Live Plan is a plus
  • Self-disciplined to be productive while working remotely.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 5 year(s) of direct general ledger accounting experience
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree (from an accredited 4-year college or university)
  • Required Fields of Study: Business and/or Accounting
  • Certification(s) Preferred: CPA, CMA
  • Successful candidate will need to be available during the Pacific Time (PT) zone hours 9:00 AM-5:00 PM to align with our clients and colleagues and respond to inquiries or issues

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: Salary ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 annually. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
