Overview
We are seeking a Freelance Grant Writer to join InteGrant, one of the nation's top performing grant writing firms.
The Grant Writer will assist InteGrant in identifying, planning, preparing, and managing grant applications. Grant applications will assist InteGrant’s nonprofit and quasi-governmental organizational clients secure crucial funding to support their operations, programs, and mission statements.
The Grant Writer will gain experience building grant calendars/identifying prospective grant funders and their opportunities; consulting with clients to assess their needs, priorities, and relevant project information; and vet opportunities for alignment and fit between the client and grantor. The position will carefully review grant guidelines (Request for Proposals, RFPs) and evaluation criteria, then ensure written responses uphold requirements.
The Grant Writer will aid clients in developing concept papers/white papers, grant applications, required application attachments (budgets, budget narratives, resumes, letters of support/commitment, etc.), preparing applications for clients’ final review, editing and proofreading applications, uploading and submitting applications, and supporting project reporting and potential application resubmissions/renewals.
The candidate must have strong writing, editing, and research skills and two or more years of experience writing grant applications.
Duties:
- Coordinate grant application planning activities;
- Prepare grant proposals, budgets, budget narratives, project abstracts, and required attachments for public and private funding sources.
- Develop concept papers/white papers and cases for support;
- Proofread and edit;
- Manage grant application projects from concept to completion;
- Conduct progress check-in meetings with InteGrant team and nonprofit clients;
- Research funding opportunities and prospective funders;
- Collect and analyze data;
- Cite references according to APA and MLA guidelines;
- Utilize digital tools for grant prospecting, preparing and submitting grant applications;
- Prepare grant reports.
Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in grant writing and securing grant awards;
- Experience preparing federal and foundation grant applications;
- Proficiency in grant writing strategies and techniques;
- Awareness of grant award management standards of practice, including 2 CFR 200 Federal Uniform Administrative Requirements;
- Project management;=
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities;
- Fluent in data gathering, research, and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in email;
- Works remotely effectively, as an individual and as part of a team;
- Familiar with Google Suite products (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
- Familiar with Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiar with Grants.gov and GrantStation (preferred).

Starting Pay: $50/hour
Schedule: Flexible; 10-20 hours per week
*Required to attend one virtual weekly team meeting. Team meetings are currently scheduled for Mondays 10-11am Pacific. Time is flexible to accommodate the contractor's availability.
**Required to respond to emails within 1-2 business days.
***Additional virtual and/or phone meetings to be scheduled with clients and in accordance with the contractor’s availability.
