We are currently in search of an adept, versatile, freelance professional to join us as a Senior Public Outreach Associate tasked with overseeing various aspects of strategic communication and marketing on subcontracting opportunities. This freelance role will play a pivotal part in managing and collaborating closely with prime contractor, joint venture and/or client representatives. The Senior Public Outreach Associate will assume responsibility for critical management and support functions, including stakeholder relations, identification, outreach, engagement, and project coordination.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, excel in organization as a self-motivated individual with acute attention to detail, readily adapt to evolving business landscapes, and boast exceptional consulting and customer service skills. This position is a remote, freelance and project-based position based in Washington, DC with the potential to expand.
Chiefly responsible for strategy development, implementation, and budget management in key components of the Political Department’s program– specifically civic engagement; partnerships; and community outreach. The advisor is also responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners, to employ strategies for achieving client' s goals and objectives.

In conjunction with prime contractor/joint venture partners, and/or client, the Senior Public Outreach Associate will:
· Collaborate internally on the design and implementation of the company's public outreach effort:
· Oversee all aspects, including team, program, and budget.
· Partner with the client to evaluate and assess needs in order to recommend and execute engagement strategies while managing associated controls and potential risk.
· Manage and support prime contractor engagement efforts, including researching, generating, maintaining, and distributing materials intended for prospective or current applicants or program participants. Examples of these materials include FAQs, flyers, applications, direct mail pieces, text campaigns, and targeted emails.
· Serve as a trusted client resource and interact and engage both virtually and onsite with client staff.
· Manage data research and client engagement databases and analyze/translate into action steps that support a robust and effective applicant marketing/engagement strategy.
· Meet and exceed key metrics to ensure appropriate levels of communication are maintained, outreach events are scheduled and executed, etc.
· Uphold the firm and client’s reputations by remaining extremely customer service focused.
· Support projects involving strategic communication, public relations, social media, writing, messaging, or other needs.
· In alignment with client-approved strategies, coordinate and develop communications products, outreach materials, promotional items, and digital materials for programs and/or services crossing multiple geographic areas and sectors.
· Proactively manage and support projects from concept to completion, working closely with clients and partners.
· Develop strategies to gain buy-in and drive awareness among key stakeholders.
· Provides oversight and direction to various vendors and consultants.
· Directly manages relationships with key national, state, and local partners.
· Provide other project support functions as needed.
DIRECTION AND DECISION MAKING:
This position reports to the firm's President & Chief Strategist, but the incumbent works with a high degree of independence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of two - five years' experience in communication, public relations, public outreach, policy interpretation, training, applicant relations and engagement, knowledge and process management, or similar roles showcasing equivalent competencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRMs, Social Media Platforms.
- Demonstrated problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach to task completion.
- Capacity to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in demanding environments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational prowess.
- Exemplary work ethic with a dedication to achieving outcomes.
- Strategic thinking, analytical prowess, and adept multitasking abilities.
- Competence in monitoring and reporting on multiple deliverables with an emphasis on meeting and surpassing deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Direct experience in client interaction, managing multiple clients concurrently, and adhering to stringent deadlines.
- Proficiency in devising targeted outreach strategies, crafting scripted mass communications, and leveraging databases for distributing mass emails and text messages.
- Familiarity with various technological platforms and tools such as Salesforce, Zoom, Mailchimp, and/or SharePoint.
- Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING:
Bilingual skills a plus.

Work is generally performed remotely with time in the field and extended hours may be required.
