Impact Consulting Online (ICO) is hiring freelance Virtual Training Producers on a contract basis specific to individual engagements. The Virtual Training Producer will manage all the technical components of virtual training utilizing web conferencing platforms such as WebEx, Teams, Zoom, etc.
This involves preparing for virtual training deliveries with clients, maintaining visual and audio system performance, providing immediate technical support to attendees, and participating in ongoing training to strengthen software expertise. S/He will work directly with ICO staff members, partners, and clients in the U.S. government and corporate sectors. The Virtual Training Producer is a consultant who can be located anywhere, with a reliable, secure, high-speed internet connection. Compensation is set at $30 per hour, and training will be provided. The time commitment varies by individual engagement. Session length ranges from 90 minutes to 8 hours. For example, one engagement could include a single 90-minute session while another engagement could include five 8-hour consecutive sessions. Dates and times will be confirmed well in advance, and it will be up to the Virtual Producer to decide whether or not to accept the work.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
The Virtual Training Producer will provide detailed technical support for customized, highly interactive virtual experiences. S/He will be expected to establish and maintain excellent relationships with partners and clients, work efficiently and effectively under pressure, be able to use good judgment in all decisions and work independently as well as in a team. The primary areas of responsibility are:
Prepare for training
- Liaise with facilitators to prepare facilitator/producer scripts, offering suggestions for interactivities and timing.
- Prepare for training delivery by reviewing materials, attending rehearsals, and confirming all necessary technical configurations.
- Create and design virtual rooms in virtual training platforms utilizing breakout rooms, layouts, whiteboards, and polls.
- Conduct pre-session technical checks with participants and resolve an issues encountered.
Manage training delivery
- Make changes to in-progress virtual sessions, troubleshooting and resolving audio and connection issues to attendees and speakers during virtual sessions.
- Establish positive working relationships with clients, partners and consultants as well as apply professional inter-cultural awareness with all attendees.
Provide in-depth notes and debrief materials
- Provide account of meetings from a technical perspective.
- Export outputs of meeting (attendance log or other deliverables at clients’ request).
Participate in ongoing training to improve expertise in software use and customer support improvement
- Maintain high-level familiarity of all features needed to conduct flawless virtual deliveries.
- Stay in communication regarding schedule and timing of deliveries.
- Explore new technologies and propose updates to the work of ICO.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, or 1 year of experience providing technical support for virtual training sessions.
- Access to a private, dedicated space with no interruptions, background noise, or distractions.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
- Ability to multi-task and to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to learn new software features quickly and effectively.
- High familiarity of various software applications: word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, web and email applications (Microsoft Office preferred).
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships virtually with a diverse group of staff and consultants; very strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks, producing quality products within tight time constraints.
- Ability to work independently and also as a member of a team.
Desired Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the features of WebEx, Zoom, MS Teams, or other web conferencing tools.
- Experience in training facilitation.
- Experience working with the US government or organizations with an international focus.
