Artist/Muralist Project Manager at Heartspace Art

We are actively seeking a highly organized and creatively-minded Mural Project Manager to step into a critical operational leadership role within our growing organization. This position is the connects our artistic vision with successful, real-world execution. We are looking for an individual who not only possesses a genuine passion for public art but also deeply understands and resonates with the mission and aesthetic of our brand.
Reporting directly to the Creative Director, the Mural Project Manager will serve as the central hub, coordinating complex projects from initial concept through final installation. You will work dynamically across multiple departments, including creative development, operations, client relations, and our team of talented on-site muralists. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that every project—whether a small-scale community piece or a multi-story commercial installation—is delivered on time, on budget, and perfectly on-brand.

The Day-to-Day Adventure:
No two days in this role will be the same, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment that thrives on variety. Following a comprehensive training period within our proprietary project management system, you will be entrusted with managing a portfolio of projects autonomously from start to finish. Payment will increase with ability.
Preferred Skills:
Brush Painting: Proficiency in traditional brush painting techniques, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
Spray Painting: Experience in using spray paint as a medium to create stunning visual artworks.
Physical Fitness: Mural making can be a labor intensive profession similar to a blend of art and construction. Many of our projects are outdoors and exposed to the elements in summer and winter. Physical ability, endurance, and ability to lift 50lbs are a must.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in mural production, public art, construction, event production, or a closely related field
Strong visual literacy : comfortable reading scaled drawings, design files, and digital renderings
Time Management: ability to manage vendors, crews, and timelines across multiple active projects
Preferred Equipment:
iPad with Procreate: Familiarity with digital art creation using Procreate on an iPad, harnessing its features to produce digital renderings and designs.
A reliable vehicle: our projects take us all over North East Florida and beyond. Your ability to fully participate will depend on the ability to drive. - Non-negotiable
Additional Qualifications:Creativity: Ability to think outside the box and generate fresh ideas.

Adaptability: Capacity to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.
Passion: Genuine passion for art and a desire to continuously improve and innovate.
Bonus: Background in fine arts, graphic design, architecture, or construction management; familiarity with mural-specific materials (exterior paints, primers, sealers); experience with public art programs or creative production companies.

Heartspace is expanding beyond Northeast Florida, strong project leadership becomes the backbone of the company. The right candidate could grow into Operations Director, Production Lead, or Regional Expansion Manager with pay to match these positions.

The Reality of This Work
This role involves outdoor job sites in Florida heat and humidity, coordinating lifts and scaffolding, managing multiple personalities, adjusting on the fly, and making sure what was designed digitally translates faithfully to a wall. It also means representing Heartspace Art — and Jacksonville — every time you show up on site.
