We are seeking a dedicated part-time freelance writer to cover local and governmental meetings and community events in Iosco County. This position offers the opportunity to engage with the community and report on important local issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend and report on governmental meetings and community events across Iosco County.
- Write articles and produce content for publication.
- Conduct interviews and gather information from various sources.
- Utilize social media platforms to promote stories and engage with the audience effectively.
- Capture high-quality photographs and videos to accompany news stories when necessary.
- Stay informed about current events and trends in the community to provide relevant coverage.
- Ensure timely submission of articles and meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with editors and other reporters to develop story ideas.
Qualifications
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

- Strong writing and basic computer skills; familiarity with social media platforms a plus.
- Experience with local government or community reporting is desirable, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Availability for nights and weekends is essential.
- Reliable transportation is required.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
