Novel Terra is seeking a freelance architectural designer to support ongoing and upcoming projects on a project-by-project basis.
This is an independent contractor role, suited for individuals who are comfortable working autonomously while working closely with our core team.
This role is primarily in-person, and candidates should be available to work the majority of their hours from our Providence studio.
Ideal applicants will have:
- Professional degree in Architecture
- Several years of professional experience (minimum 3 years) contributing to projects across multiple phases, from early design through construction
- Strong proficiency in Revit and 3D modeling tools (such as Rhino or SketchUp), along with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience in producing construction documents and coordinating with consultants
- Knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and construction methods is preferred
- Experience with adaptive reuse, mixed-use, commercial, and residential projects is preferred
- Ability to manage time and deliverables independently while remaining communicative and collaborative
- Strong design sensibility, creativity, and attention to detail
