Role Description
We are seeking a Social Media Marketing Specialist for a part-time, on-site role located in Tuscaloosa, AL. In this position, you will manage social media accounts, create engaging content, develop and execute digital marketing campaigns, and help build the internet’s next big culture around chewing gum.
Poppy Soda didn’t become a national phenomenon through massive ad buys or old-school marketing. They were a tiny brand with a big idea. What changed everything was how they showed up online. They turned an everyday beverage into a cultural moment by building a community, defining their aesthetic, and riding trend waves on TikTok until those waves became a movement. What you'll do
- Create short-form videos for TikTok and Instagram that feel native to the platform
- Identify trends early and turn them into moments that highlight Boost Gum
- Help shape a recognizable brand identity through consistent style, voice, and storytelling
- Experiment quickly and learn which content drives organic growth
- Work closely with the founders and marketing team to align on goals and creative strategy

- A creator who genuinely enjoys TikTok and already makes content or consumes it nonstop
- Understands culture, audio trends, aesthetic branding, and why certain posts go viral
- Confident on camera and willing to experiment with different formats
- Able to capture authentic campus life, humor, and the energy of student culture
- Creative, self motivated, and excited to help build something from the ground up
- Someone who cares about community, connection, and storytelling
Compensation
This role is paid and is expected to scale into a full-time marketing position.
