Will be responsible for developing and executing engaging digital content that highlights the achievements, stories, and experiences of student-athletes, teams, and the athletics department. This role manages day-to-day content creation, posting, and monitoring across official teams social media accounts to grow brand awareness, drive fan engagement, and support recruitment and revenue initiatives. The position collaborates with coaches, staff, and university partners to ensure consistent messaging, timely coverage of events, and alignment with the institution’s brand standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plan, shoot, edit and produce high-quality long and short form video content for various social media platforms to help build fan connection with the Olympic sport programs. Take photos and capture video during practices, warmups, games, road trips, team activities, etc. Travel on occasion with teams to away games, team outings, events and functions.
2. Develop and implement creative media strategies for Olympic sports. Create and promote multi-media projects (photo/video/graphics) for the purpose of the team’s culture, messaging, branding, recruiting and player promotion. Execute strategy for posting on all social media accounts to develop and promote Olympic sports, including soccer, volleyball, swimming, tennis, golf, track and lacrosse, maximizing content and design.
3. Facilitate strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and external groups (alumni, creative services vendors, donors, etc.). Execute shared objectives with other departments (marketing, communications, ticketing, Blue & Gold Fund, president’s office, alumni engagement, Learfield, etc.) in a coordinated effort with the communications staff.
4. Manage digital content database (Dropbox, Box, Canto, etc.) to organize and deliver assets at a fast pace.
5. Provide support to the basketball social media managers as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications, digital marketing, journalism, and/or graphic design.
Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
Demonstrated working experience with the Adobe Creative Suite;
Experience in sports graphic design, photography and videography;
Experience developing and implementing a social media strategy;
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under multiple, strict deadlines in a fast-paced office environment while delivering quality work;
Capacity to adapt quickly to major and minor changes in projects and outcomes;
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal, written, computer, and personal relations skills;
Ability to work an irregular schedule including, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work in a team-based environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Previous experience in Division I athletics or professional athletics.
Experience producing and sharing multimedia stories to drive engagement for a sports brand;
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a team to establish and achieve goals
Demonstrated measurable success in social media engagement growth at the collegiate or professional level;
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of social media networking platforms.
