The Part-Time Student Social Media Coordinator for the OSFL at IU will support the office's communication and engagement efforts through creative and strategic social media initiatives. This position will assist in developing and implementing content to highlight OSFL programs, initiatives, and the broader Indiana Greek community
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Creates and curates engaging content for OSFL's Instagram account.
- Assists in planning, developing, and executing social media campaigns and promotional materials.
- Contributes to the production of photo, video, and written content on social media platforms.
- Monitors and analyzes engagement metrics to help inform strategy and support growth across platforms.
- Collaborates with OSFL staff and student leaders to highlight individuals, chapters, community achievements, and upcoming events.
- Organizes and coordinates a community-wide content day focused on social media and photography.
- Supports marketing and outreach efforts for key events such as OSFL Awards, recruitment, leadership programs, and other initiatives.
- Develops a comprehensive social media plan and guidelines to support future content creation and consistency.
- Performs additional duties related to social media, outreach, and communications as assigned.
EDUCATION
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
Preferred
- Member of the Sorority or Fraternity Community
Required
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Basic knowledge of platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Canva or similar design tools
- Familiarity with photography or video creation using a smartphone or basic equipment
Preferred
- Prior involvement in student organizations, marketing, communications, or event planning
Skills
Required
- Demonstrated experience managing or creating content for social media platforms
- Strong written and visual communication skills
- Creativity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Instagram
- Pursuit of a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
